The Hyphae Desk is a sculptural wooden piece inspired by mycelium in forest soil, symbolizing integration and symbiosis. Its flowing, organic bends merge seamlessly with the desk’s structure, evoking a sense of natural transformation and interconnectedness. 

Hyphae: the branching filaments that make up the mycelium of a fungus.

Previously worn/performed paper works drape on bent ash to mimic waves, thematically echoed throughout Alexa’s solo exhibition “Unchanging and changing and changing” at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre back in October 2023.
